The world is full of complicated problems, but the solutions are all quite simple.
Dealing with the state of our planet and the way we’re mistreating it can seem like an overwhelming task - but when you think about it, the solutions are all quite simple. All we need to do is try our best to harmonise our routines with the natural rhythms of nature, living more in tune with mother nature’s patterns - respecting our precious resources and using organic, natural processes to our advantage. The birds and the bees and the trees and the worms and the shrooms, the soils and forests and corals and dunes. There’s a system already in place and every element is ready to work in harmony with each other, we just need to let it flow.
Created for a climate action by TED.com x FineActs, listed as a finalist out of 2000+ entries. Illustrated while volunteering at a permaculture centre (Terra Alta) where I was facilitating workshops for the summer.
A series of illustrations inspired by Portugal
I was commissioned by Friends of the Earth Malta to create a series of illustrations to go with their story: 'A vision for a just new world'. The illustrated story talks about the inequalities people face today and the changes we must see to achieve a more socially just and ecologically sound future, where humans and nature can live side by side. The story is part of a project called System Reset and it is about engaging young people with environmental and social justice topics.
Album artwork for Swamp Money - a Barcelona based 7-piece jazz & neo-soul collective with musicians from Catalunya, Venezuela, the UK, and Malta.
Illustrations for a brand identity project for Your Kombucha (see the full packaging project here). I wanted to convey the feeling of nature springing to life - using Gozo’s natural flora and fauna as inspiration: borage, caper flower, nasturtiums, hibiscus…all big attractors of pollinators which are essential for life in many forms.
Everything is connected. Poster and symbol for the Rave Revolution. For over 10 years, member states of the UN have been negotiating a treaty that would enable the conservation and protection of marine areas beyond national jurisdiction. But unsurprisingly nothing has been concluded. Meanwhile, life in the oceans has entered a downhill trajectory toward mass extinction. Due to this, Rave Revolution along with Ocean Rebellion organised a dance protest to coincide with the UN Ocean Conference in Lisbon. I created the posters and the symbols that were spread across the city in anticipation for the event.
I was commissioned by the Cobra Collective to create an extensive set of illustrations for an Open University (@theopenuniversity ) programme on community environmental management, with the aim of supporting communities to monitor wetlands and protect biodiversity.
Back at school I loved the drawing tasks that came with geography lessons - drawing maps, plans, icons and landscapes - so it was a real joy to be tasked with creating my own set of textbook illustrations.

To create this, I had the song on repeat in my headphones and just went with whatever came to my mind. I guess it evoked feelings of journeys and those uncapturable flashes of beauty you get while sitting in a window seat on a train or a plane.
A compilation of editorial illustrations I have created over the years, usually in response to political or environmental occurrences. I feel driven to create visual responses to worldly injustices - sometimes this is just a form of catharsis that helps me to digest upsetting news, but I also hope that the visuals can provide support or show empathy & solidarity with the victims of injustice.
Questions for nature: personal series - children’s book illustration style experimentation
During the pandemic, I unexpectedly found myself living in Marsalforn... a tiny fishing village on the north coast of the island of Gozo, in the middle of the Mediterranean. Throughout my life the village has been one of those places that you'd drive to, take a quick look at, and quickly dismiss as having been ruined by tourism and shabby construction. But when you spend time in a place (and covid provided the perfect opportunity to do so), you get to notice its quirks and intricacies, its little bits of charm that still cling on to little corners. And without any tourists around, you get to notice its inhabitants: a quirky, diverse mix of locals and immigrants who keep this sleepy place alive. This led to a series of quick, daily illustrations: Meet the locals.
Series of illustrations for Oscar Deen, a sunglasses brand, about European travel stories
Unused concepts for ‘Ugly Duckling’, a natural craft-cider brand I worked on last year. We took a different direction in the end (see this page for final identity) but I still really like these initial ones so I thought I’d save them from getting lost by the digital wayside and let them see the light of day
A mix of personal and commissioned illustrations inspired by Malta, the motherland
Got to illustrate some beautiful house plants for Plantshop.nyc - also designed plant care cards and a minimal logo for the NY based house-plant company
Illustrations for TFL (Transport for London), which were used for a campaign encouraging the public to ditch their cars and use alternative modes of transport. The illustrations featured on a series of keychains that were handed out at tube stations. Art direction by VCCP Kin.
I illustrated this infostory about disability in the workplace for the International Labour Organization (ILO) whilst working at Nice and Serious.
Globally, there are over one billion people with disabilities. They are now more active in our society than ever before. Yet employment rates are low and many barriers to work still exist. The InfoStories platform offers interactive narratives built around research findings from the ILO. See the infostory live here
